It's not too late to do some last-minute revision for your GCSE Exams - attend a catch-up session before and in-between exams to recap over any topics you want help with.

A priority for employers, which makes them a priority for us!

Dedicated English and maths classes make up a large part of all study programmes up to Level 2, and these skills are also embedded into every lesson.

If you left school with a GCSE English and/or Maths at Grade 3 or below you’ll study English and Maths to gain a GCSE Grade 9-4.

Many of our students progress to University and your English and maths qualifications are essential in securing a place.Always check the entry requirements as many universities ask for a Grade 5, don’t worry though, you can access support from our Learning Development Mentors who will support you in achieving your required grade.

We will assess your level of English and maths after you apply and have been interviewed for your course. You will then be given an appropriate pathway for achieving these essential qualifications.

  • What if I don’t get my GCSE grades 9-4?

    You will continue to study to achieve these qualifications as part of your study programme, until you gain a grade 4 or equivalent.

    You'll study in English and/or maths classes, depending on your current level of achievement.

    If you achieved grade 3 or 2, you will be automatically enrolled on to a GCSE course. If not, you will study for Functional Skills qualifications - leading to a GCSE - at a pace that suits you.

  • What are functional skills?

    They're not just about knowledge of English and maths. They're about using this knowledge in real-life, helping you to operate confidently and independently.

  • I’ve got the grades, do I need to study further?

    Only if you want to, or if you need a Level 3 in English or maths for your desired career or HE course.

    We would encourage you to continue to develop your skills to give you the edge in the jobs market.

  • I need extra support, can I get some help?

    Yes, you have the ability to pass and our tutors will get you there!

    If you have difficulties or disabilities, English and maths will form part of your programme - we'll help you to develop at your own pace and level.

    Work-related learning, work experience and preparation for work play key roles in your programmes; English and maths will be embedded in to these too.
